Why we built Stiimo.
The idea started with practical experience of project management, estimating and the time that manual takeoffs require.
Stiimo began with a familiar problem in electrical projects. Valuable time was spent counting symbols and measuring cable routes when that time was needed for decisions, review and planning.
Built from experience in the trade
Joel worked as a project manager at Caverion and later ran William G, where estimating was part of his responsibilities. He experienced both the pressure of preparing a bid and the responsibility of delivering the project after it was won.
Together with technology entrepreneurs from Enköping, he started building a product that could make quantities easier to prepare and easier to use throughout the project.
Technology that supports judgement
Stiimo is designed to help with the repetitive work while keeping the user in control. The result must be possible to review against the drawing and the project documents.
The professional still chooses the solution and makes the decisions. Stiimo helps create a clearer basis for that work.
